Babe Walls continues to bring together women and non-binary artists in their 4th annual Women's History Month exhibition, hosted by Ryan Joseph Gallery in the Highlands community of Denver, CO.
Join us on Saturday, March 9th, from 6-9 pm for an evening of masterful talent and an opportunity to meet the artists behind the work. This marks Onerary's second time featuring her work alongside an exceptionally talented lineup of over 35 artists, both local and national, curated by Babe Walls for Women's History Month.
About Babe Walls
“Babe Walls is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports and celebrates women and non-binary artists worldwide. Our festivals celebrate women and non-binary folks in art along with the celebration of the community that we can create together. It is not to be excluded by gender – but to celebrate our community formed by the feminine, which we inherently relate to.
We are organized as a safe place for women and non-binary folx, who not only have made their name in the mural world, but to also give opportunities to up and coming artists that don’t know how to make the first step.”
As Onerary conceptualizes an intimate piece for this year, she draws inspiration from the ongoing transformation within her current in-progress series on Heart Coherence. This being one of many pieces where her aim is to capture the journey of navigating deep rooted values, particularly as a woman aging in our society. Approaching the age at which her mother passed away, she aspires to release the grip of fear, release the stitch of past narratives, and reconstruct the energy that has confined her to then fully move into a new state of being.
Overcoming time and again, which includes profound healing from neurological symptoms that emerged in the past year and a half, Onerary harnesses this energy as a superpower to illuminate the path for herself and others.
In progress piece- for Babe Walls gallery show
This piece, titled “That You See Through the Veil of This Reality—The Illusions Fall Away…” is inspired by a daily meditation practice. Onerary orchestrates a portrait that emphasizes on the awareness of moving energy up through the body, converging at the point behind the eyes and in the center of the head.
It portrays a blessing, enveloping and surrounding this central point, elevating it to a new state of mind where harmony initiates a transformative response in the body, receiving a new message. The illusion of fear is released.
Embroidery and line work detail*
Always within Onerary's technique, her hand embroidery symbolizes a pulse, weaving in and out—transitioning from one vibration to the next. The threads represent an interconnectedness, mirroring the intertwining nature within ourselves and with each other.
The intricately handled threads are beautifully entangled, showcasing the complexity of these connections. The line work, also acting as the pulse, varies in intensity at different pressure points, providing a visual rhythm. It captures the constant flow of energy, creating a dynamic and engaging visual narrative.
Experience this piece in its completion in person and have the opportunity to meet Danielle (Onerary) and all the incredibly talented creators at the 3rd Annual Babe Walls Women's History Month gallery show. Located at the Ryan Joseph Gallery, 2647 W 38th Ave, Denver CO 80211 - exhibition will be up through April 10th, 2024.
